There is no need to panic if you've run out of space!

There's a couple of things to consider

        • Finding the source of what's taking up your space

So the computer has run out of space? But where is the space being used?
A free tool such as TreeSize https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/ will allow you to see visually where most of the space is being used.

Space may be being used exactly where you thought, or maybe not - but now you should have an idea of how to categorise your usage.

        Are files

        something you need every day?
        something you need infrequently?
something you would be happy to delete for good?

        • Deciding on a strategy to free up space, or add some more storage

From the above you should have an idea of whether your files are essential, can be archived, or deleted.

        • My files are essential, and I need more space

Storage solutions exist in several forms, you can buy a new disk which will fit inside your computer, or one which will attach to your computer.

        • My files can be archived, I don't need access to them all the time

There are a number of solutions for backing up files that you don't need every day.

        You can consider

        • I don't need my files - they can be deleted

Removing files can be a simple way of freeing up storage space, however you need to be careful that the files you're removing are not important and will not affect the functioning of your computer.

Before doing so post some details and it'll be possible to give some more guidance first.
